jan aijian had an open studio tour a few weeks ago-----

she is a welder.

you can look at her work on her website! it's stunning. sculptures that are bigger than her.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm---- a weekend at the aijians is such a breath of fresh air.

exciting things ahead: i have been invited to be in an art show!

my polaroids will be an installation piece in the show, but i'm also creating a few small pieces on wood panels to include. making new work------- always exciting, but also is nerve-wracking for me sometimes. i still haven't created the new work, but have visions of using gold tape and dazzles and photocopies of photographs. we'll see what happens. and a small note, i won't be able to make it to the opening unfortunately---- but you should stop by. you will love it.

a few months ago, i was reading some magazines and found these little signs,

and it was a sign,

because i had just named my new life phase "get outside and fly!"

my life is oddly in tune with the length of my journals.

when one ends, so does a portion of my life.

my current one is called I AM THE ONE. which means a lot of things.

living in who i am, accepting me for me, believing that i will be supported if i do my part and live it out. there isn't anyone else to be me. so i have to do it. i'm the one.

i never have saturdays as real saturdays.

my saturdays are work days,

and mondays are like my saturdays.

but TODAY.............

is a real saturday.

i hope to wash my car.

probably won't happen.

what probably WILL happen is eating some eggs sprinkled in lavendar (i use it like rosemary. its delicious) and a massage at the $15 place down the street. and i just got invited to game night with my friends. i just woke up and its 1:30pm. i like to let my body tell me things and WOW did it ever tell me it needed a break.

i am teaching a photography class at fuller seminary------

what a deep combo. photography at a seminary. it's right up my alley: faith and art, the sacred and the everyday, creativity and spirituality. doing this makes me feel alive.

this was a small lighting experiment we did during our first class.

isn't it crazy? a simple white vase can be so many things, can go to so many different places, when you slow down and really look.

a big !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to chris, charlie, sarah, michelle, and jenny. you guys rule.
