It's ok to not want to expose yourself too soon, just as long as you don't give in to fear :)
(05.20.11 @ 01:00 PM)Amen Amen Amen.
I ove love love what you wrote.
I'm sure it will resonate with so many more people than you can imagine.
I know it resonated with me.
Thanks for being honest with us always!
Something in your words I could totally relate to. Learning to travel those moments with an acceptance and peace for what they are, let them
"bake" into perfect timing. God will lead you there. :)

You really do delight me. I'm sorry I haven't got back to you about hanging out—may not even end up with a day off this week. Craziness as per usual. But I delight in the delight you experience and share here. I really do.
(04.26.11 @ 09:43 AM)This is going to sound weird. I used to go to Biola, and sort of knew your brother Jason. I don't go to Biola anymore, and I honestly don't remember how I found your blog, but I love it; it always brightens my day when you post something new. I love how light and fresh and airy all of your photos are. Also, I want to follow suit in your organization/cleansing frenzy you talk about below. Just wanted to say thank you for doing what you do, and keep it up!
(04.26.11 @ 02:18 PM)

wow. shannon. thank you sooooo much! i am so excited about this class! now i think i'm going to borrow your idea of selling some of my work to pay for the trip. =) i CANNOT wait to meet you!
(04.20.11 @ 07:44 PM)hi Shannon, I haven't said anything to you for so long! My facebook has been strange - anyway, the best thing was to log in here and see that SOOO-CUTTTE picture of Cosmo looking sideways and sassy! Love it! love you, too....we had huge snowflakes coming down this morning! How can that be? But I loved it because I could enjoy watching it come and know that it would melt immediately and not stay 3 months like we had here in Grand Forks. God bless, GR MA
(04.21.11 @ 03:57 PM)

Awesome, Shan!!! Love this!!! YAY YOU! I'm so glad to know you and so glad that you are YOU!
(04.13.11 @ 04:45 PM)oh my gosh, these kids are amazing. i love how you culminated their experience. so many times, students are just dropped off the edge with no closure, but this booklet and the artist's statement are such great ideas. especially love the "seeing the city" statement. WOW.
(04.13.11 @ 07:06 PM)I love that you teach kids. I used to be a teacher and I now I substitute teach. I just love that you are encouraging them to be creative and to be proud of themselves.
There's an 11 year old girl that shows up to the photography club that I attend once a month. There are 85, 50+ year-olds that go this meeting and I am the "young" one (and you know how "young" I am!). This 11 year old girl is my sidekick during the evening. She brings me prints that she has made and gives them to me. I LOVE her! I love encouraging her. I wish I had picked up a camera at 11! I wish I had you as a teacher. :)

or there's always the stem/stripe/orange/bold,

wait, so a print is going to be $450? wah i want to be the free spot, so unfair. but man, i am so jealous that you get to travel, because, i LOVE to travel! i wish i could be your co-teaching travel buddy. you're awesome. have i mentioned that enough yet?
(04.12.11 @ 03:55 PM)How exciting! I will take a look! ;)
(04.12.11 @ 05:02 PM)Would love to support you teaching the youth! When is the next seeing workshop for the giveaway?
(04.12.11 @ 07:30 PM)Done. I've never seen that white one before. LOVE IT. MUST HAVE IT. I'm so excited for you going to Czech. Its going to be really great! Good luck Shan :)
xoxo
(04.14.11 @ 10:40 AM)Love it! What a great idea. So, with the white border, what will the final size of an 8x10 be? What size frame would I need?
(04.14.11 @ 08:22 PM)Shannon, i LOVE your work! you are such inspiration to me, thanks for being and seeing the way you do. xx
(04.19.11 @ 06:11 AM)Enjoy your trip, Shannon. I'm Czech living in Canada and I always love to go home for a visit. I'm not sure which place you go to but Prague is just stunning. I really miss the history over here in Canada...
Btw, people over there are open and vulnerable, you just need to be at the right place at a right time ;)
what an amazing opportunity/great idea!
Enjoy. I can only imagine the beauty you'll capture

here's a few more on her blog, and some really good words. she's good with words. crap, i'm back to not using capitals. I need a permanent reminder that life is a process, and its also a spiral.
These are just beautiful!! Looks like you are a natural on both sides of the camera:) Cute clothes, where do you love to shop?
(04.07.11 @ 05:49 AM)These are GREAT. Not that I know you personally, but it seems like she captured your personality. :) I'm especially fond of the last few with the pink top - it's a great color on you!

(04.07.11 @ 08:23 AM)Shannon, you are NOT 24. Get out! I seriously just pulled out my calculator to do the math. I am 17 years older than you. I don't know what to say? I'm so old.
I absolutely love these photos. Now that we know that I am of the age that I could have actually birthed you, I will tell you that you are beautiful! I cannot imagine what you will be like inside and out when you are 41. You will be a shining star.
ps. TW left a comment on my blog once and I felt like I had been kissed by a movie star. I didn't wash my cheek for weeks. She probably doesn't remember, she was just being nice. But still.
(04.07.11 @ 10:22 AM)these look great. i look at your blog since i love your photos (you shot my friend megan & phil martin's wedding) but i also resonate with what you write (and am also 24 but feel much wiser now :)

(04.07.11 @ 10:24 AM)favorite place to shop: NORDSTROM RACK! the pink top is from jcrew, but its the only thing i own from there. the white top is from anthro.
(04.07.11 @ 11:33 AM)Lovely pics. I actually kinda liked your old way (non-capitalized) style of writing...and I know all the rules since copyediting is how I pay the bills. It had sort of an e.e. cummings thing going on.
(04.07.11 @ 11:37 AM)Simply beautiful. Leave it to TW to nail it on the head. ( :
(04.07.11 @ 11:46 AM)I saw Tara's photos of you yesterday on her blog. You are such a natural beauty and I love how she caught your personality on photos. Amazing work, both of you!!

(04.07.11 @ 12:46 PM)One of my favorite things in life is watching you grow, and being a part of it, in my own small way- even if that means just listening.
these pictures are perfectly you. :]
(04.07.11 @ 02:13 PM)shannon, these are perfect. you are so fantastic, and that pink shirt on you is fabulous. i'm pretty sure we need another lunch date. soon.
(04.07.11 @ 03:25 PM)I agree with another commenter that I liked your non-capitalization. It has a freeness about it, and it inspires me to do the same, to just
try things
and capitalize them and
space them
how i want to.
See?
Hello, beautiful! I agree, the internet has nothing on the real thing. I hope I get to meet you soon, maybe when Jennifer is back in town again? And forget about the capitals, your writing is impeccable, and inspiring—you write with a purpose!
(04.10.11 @ 02:36 AM)Gosh, you are stunning. I've always thought you were such a beautiful, beautiful person and these photos definitely capture your radiant little spirit. 2, 5, and 6 are my favorites!
(04.12.11 @ 04:28 PM)

(05.31.11 @ 01:17 PM)My family lives in Minnesota and I love it. I'd totally move there if I had a reason. Beautiful state and beautiful people! Have fun.
(06.02.11 @ 01:29 PM)I have this feeling that you are more mindful and present than you believe you are. :) Deep breath. Grace for yourself is what you need.
(06.02.11 @ 10:07 PM)Tracy ~ you are so right! Grace for Shannon from Shannon!!
(06.03.11 @ 08:40 AM)Have a great time in our lovely state! Make sure to buy some real maple syrup and eat some homemade hot-dish. Oooh, and try to avoid the giant mosquitoes. They're a pretty vicious bunch.
