on a different note,
I love you. Just wanted to tell you. I miss our talks and hope you are well! Thanks for always taking wonderful pictures and sharing them with us!
(04.15.11 @ 11:27 AM)Haha, love the Activia.
(04.15.11 @ 01:45 PM)Praying for the key and tape fairies to do their magic. I can't find my sunglasses so I am wearing a pair that is broken and taped, like a nerd. I wear them on my walks and then into the grocery story and forget that I have them on and wonder why people are looking at me funny.

2) i was wondering where cos went after monday's post of the new living room set up! i thought you might have made that corner nook that used to be Ro's office into cos' room.

(03.19.11 @ 12:53 PM)...I'm a #6. I need to feel safe and secure to be happy, so I should join your change club too. :)
(03.19.11 @ 11:09 PM)I am super duper, duper super happy I found you and your beautiful photos. It was such a happy accident. Mission wasn't on my turf but I wanted to check it out anyway and when I saw your photos and it had me YOO HOO! And now we have a sweet, mutual friend, Jennifer?! Small world radadad! Anyway, I'm always down for changes. Changes are good. Yes to change club!

Sometimes i can be so unaware of styles, eras, what's in, what's out, who wrote that song, why that movie was important.... key info that most people think is obvious. I have other strengths. I am really good at recognizing fonts. I can also make a really awesome strawberry cream cheese lemon zest pie.

!!! amazing. love the new gem. mcm furniture makes me weak in the knees!

(03.14.11 @ 01:53 PM)inspired to sing: "Meet George Jetson.... Jane, his wife." LOVE it, and it fits you perfectly.

(03.15.11 @ 02:05 AM)The old ct looks like a coffin, lol ! Did u trade it in for the new?? Btw, where's my Peets or Coffee Bean on this table!?
(03.15.11 @ 04:10 PM)I knew I felt this kindred something when I landed on your blog. I am a midcentury modern girl to the core. My Pinterest boards are full of that kind of dreaming. There is a fabulous midcentury store in So Cal called Denmark50. PLEASE go there for me since I cannot. My hubby would kill me for traveling 6 hours to shop for a chair. :(

I don't get to check in here every day like I wish I could and then when I do you have posted so much I get anxious about what I have missed!
I so wish I lived down there. I'd be at your show, and at your class in a heart beat.
I so appreciate your non-cliche way of photographing the world and people around you. :)
after glimpsing at your blog for some time now, I now see how light influences the composure of a photo, and I'm able to ATTEMPT to translate such detail to when I shoot

I heart you, I'm so proud of you taking ballet. Someday I will have the courage to do that. :)
(02.25.11 @ 12:47 PM)OK...that last photo has got to be the CUTEST bird photo EVER!!!!!!!!!!
(02.25.11 @ 11:37 PM)Did you just say, shopping at Nordstrom Rack with TW? Totally envious. Love your little lover. I have been aching for a little pet lately. My kids are cute, but I want a little friend who will not argue with me. :)

(02.27.11 @ 09:40 AM)oh my gosh!
i checked out tara whitney's website and she is such a great photographer. i LOVE her style and can't wait to see her photos of you.
#1 I can't wait to see your new photos by Tara! It might seem vain to enjoy photos of ourselves, but I find them fascinating. Mostly because I don't look at myself very often and we are always the ones behind the camera not infront of it right?
#2 You can call Cosmo your lover if you want... Linda {{{The bird trainer thats been helping me out }}} says that the birds see us as being their mates. Plus, everyone loves their pets so its understandable :)
(03.02.11 @ 04:48 PM)

I love a good life cleanse!
I need to follow in your footsteps and be way more intentional about it...
(04.25.11 @ 02:45 PM)CUE THE ANGELS SINGING IN A CHOIR!
(04.25.11 @ 02:59 PM)Congratulations. Big jobs are the most satisfying.
hmm...I feel refreshed! Really!
(04.25.11 @ 03:52 PM)come to my house! do you consult ?!
(04.25.11 @ 03:58 PM)Shan. The PH looks so fresh! I have really been thinking about it lately. The provided housing here in Oregon is not so homey, pretty, or fresh.
Miss you. Also, the post-it still warms my heart. LOVE.
(04.25.11 @ 03:59 PM)i am so inspired by simplicity and minimalism, so i loved this post.. thank you!! i moved away from LA last fall and have now been living with 30 or so boxes worth of stuff packed away.. love realizing that we don't need all that we surround ourselves with. will definitely look back at this post once we move into a house and our ultimate organization project begins! :)
(04.25.11 @ 04:09 PM)I JUST leaned my horrible mess of a desk before sitting down to read this. I'm in an organizing mood right now. Love all your succulents - I really want some but just haven't gotten any yet. Perhaps today is the day!
(04.25.11 @ 04:09 PM)Your home filled me with delight today—but it is your methodologies that filled me with joy and a sense of relief-by-proxy. Incidentally, I went on a similar rampage recently. I know how great it feels. Yay, you.
(04.25.11 @ 04:16 PM)yeah! you go! you know i love this...
(04.25.11 @ 05:38 PM)NICE!
(04.25.11 @ 06:11 PM)GOOD JOB SHANNON! All that in a weekend - I'm impressed & inspired.
(04.25.11 @ 07:09 PM)great post! i have to know... where is your grey couch from?
(04.26.11 @ 03:19 AM)this website is a breath of fresh air from the comparatively dull and un-artsy university life i'm living! your photos are wonderful :) i especially love the polaroids. cosmo is the cutest bird, and your apartment is lovely!
(04.26.11 @ 06:17 AM)i'm going through a similar phase right now - i'm calling it "operation purge 2011" ;)
(04.26.11 @ 08:01 AM)i am really inpsired by minimalist living (my home is basically the opposite right now)... but i'm also looking to 'throw away old crap' and really downsize so we can BREATHE in our home again.
an interesting woman/blog: http://www.missminimalist.com/
check it out! she's pretty hardcore...but insipring!

your place looks beautiful - love the 'light' and color!
Making color spectrums with books is genius.
(04.26.11 @ 09:59 AM)YOU HAVE FR. DE CAUSSADE ON YOUR BOOKSHELF. UNDER BROTHER LAWRENCE. You are one of my new favorite people, Shannon.
(04.26.11 @ 03:48 PM)1. Did I just read that you are on Pinterest? I am so addicted.
2. Just reading this post made me feel cleaner and fresher, like I do after I read a Real Simple magazine. In my other life I am a personal organizer. I would clean my friend's garages for free. Love it.
3. Is that The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence on your book shelf? One of my faves. I think of this book when I am doing the dishes.
4. about your p.s....this is what I tell myself when I get rid of things that I barely use but think I might want some day: if I actually wind up needing it, I can go buy it or borrow it. And yet, I have never had to do this in all my years of tossing.
So. Yeah for tossing! When you toss, you make room in your heart to usher in the new. :)
(04.26.11 @ 09:35 PM)I love your home, it's so happy and light.
(04.27.11 @ 10:22 AM)I love how spacious your home is. I am in LOVE with your kitchen. I also love how you planted succulents in random jars and placed them all over your home.
(04.28.11 @ 08:29 AM)i
(05.04.11 @ 11:23 AM)I commented when I was over how much I liked the little plant on the side table, but I like the picture even more! Your apartment is awesome
