these dont tell a story,
they weren't taken on the same day,
they've all been waiting to be paid attention to for a while,
and this morning they all linked up together in my mind.
they feel very me this morning.

i went on a really long walk with my neighbor val this morning and just got back.
south pasadena, i love you.

mornings, i usually love you.
cosmo and i have been settling in to each other really really nicely.
he flips his lid when i leave the room,
probably because i'm here 24/7, sitting right next to him at my computer editing photos. emailing people. loving my life. etc.
i think he's really happy. he's also the most curious little bird i've ever seen.
(i can't believe i own a bird.)

today i took 100 photos of my dishes instead of around 20.
and i suppose these aren't all OF my dishes,
but photographing the dishes is what caused me to see those other things.

i'm always interested in the subliminal messages i might be sending cosmo through the newspapers that he sits above every day. he honestly looks down at them a lot. he's such a curious animal. always staring at things for a long time. examining. wondering.
and he cuddles up to that pink tassel in the third photo every night around 11.
he puts himself to bed.
he knows when he's ready.
he knows what's up.

my kitchen isn't always shining and lovely.
there's often dirty dishes piled up.
well, its either LOTS OF DISHES or NO DISHES!
i can be extreme-clean girl or extreme-i-dont-care girl.
depends on the day.
on THIS particular day our sink was blocked up.
it was disgusting.
our fix-it guy for our apartment is named Jesus.
me and the neighbors often say: don't worry, Jesus will fix it.
this is very true on so many levels.
this is what i needed to hear today.

i was attending (!) a wedding this past weekend and had 3 different people ask me about him.
my grandma posted on my facebook wall asking if he was still my favorite bird, since i hadn't posted about him in a while. IT'S TIME. you need to see his face.
i like taking him in my kitchen, even though he usually flies back to his cage within a few seconds.

i also like carrying him around on my shoulder.
i make breakfast with him,
do my makeup with him,
brush my teeth with him,
cut up vegetables with him.

after our kitchen time i sat down for breakfast at the table: oatmeal & strawberries & greek honey yogurt, and noticed this. it's been there for 2 weeks, but today i laughed at it. so odd.
