he's a pretty mellow bird.
he seems happy just sitting there on his perch.
sometimes though, he'll pace back and forth.
i always know he's prepping to do something intense.
and sat there.
looking at me,
panting.
apparently that was a really big deal.
proud of you, cosarine.
that's his full name.
but i REALLY WANTED TO.
that chicken.
just thawing in the bowl.
gross, but kind of lovely.
but mostly gross.
floating, thawing, being.
okay that's enough.
Thank you for keeping it affordable. Unfortunately because I am poor I can only afford one right now. But I'm gonna get more eventually, that's a promise. As for requests: I'd buy that photo of Cosmo making the goofy face at the camera in a heartbeat. Also, is it true that since I ordered today I'm going to get another surprise print?!? This is just too much excitement. And one last thing, I have the same kitchen timer as you! Anthropologie, gotta love it.
(08.26.10 @ 11:18 PM)I cracked up at the chicken! For the past week I have had THE HARDEST TIME dealing with raw chicken...but you captured it so well, of course.
Loving the dishes, keep up the good work! : )
(08.27.10 @ 10:08 AM)aly---------------- i used to not cook chicken because i couldnt deal with raw meat. this is part of my way of working through it, getting past it. so funny. i'm so glad you liked these------ i assumed that people probably thought i was crazy. which is partly true.
(08.27.10 @ 10:12 AM)
that makes me happy, and has honestly got me thinking.
lots of photographers have photographers as their audience,
lots of photographers have art-lovers as their audience,
but i'm pretty sure that my audience is you.
the person who is working working working, needing a little breath of fresh air.
and honestly.......
i'm in your same boat.
i work at my desk monday to friday....
i often get bored and need inspiration,
i get tired of doing mundane daily tasks
i get lonely and need a little chat with a friend,
i get hungry and need to search my desk for a snack.
so, leave me a comment, say hi from your cubicle,
and i want to send one of you lucky people a real, live photo to pin up above your desk.
because you're awesome and you deserve it.
just leave a comment and say hi!

fantastic!!
(08.24.10 @ 11:38 AM)omigosh this is ME. i am saying hello from my cubicle.

(08.24.10 @ 01:48 PM)Thank you, Shan. I follow your blog almost daily, thanks your facebook updates. And yes, during the summer, I sit in a cubicle with not enough to fill my work time. So where do I end up? FACEBOOK. And let's be honest, sometimes Facebook can get me down. I get a little overwhelmed by the social pressures therein. Anyhow, your posts and pictures make my time spent online beautiful and refreshing. I've told you once, but I'll say it again, YOU ARE HELPING ME TO SEE BETTER. Thanks for everything, Shannon.
(08.24.10 @ 01:53 PM)To my real, sweet, lovely friend that I've never ever met:
I work in the corner of an office and am currently snacking on tomatoes & cucumbers. Thanks for writing a post just for me (and all of us).
I LOVE how you bring the everyday life to it's real & rightful place: bright, purposeful, and wonderful.
Can't wait for January. :) :)

(08.24.10 @ 03:00 PM)Shannon, thank you, thank you for your honest enthusiasm and consistent effervescence. You brighten up my work days, and inspire me to create more art. I love things better after looking through your photos. You're making the Wheatstone office more beautiful right now, and I'd love it if that became a more permanent state of affairs. :)

answer to prayer: i got a washing machine.
i used to do my laundry at my parent's house, which is an hour away, and yes.... sometimes that meant i'd only do my laundry once a month. i'm okay with that, because i actually don't have the highest standards of Clean for my clothes. i'm cool with re-wearing things once or twice or three times. usually more, lets be real. i don't have a dryer, but i enjoy hanging clothes to dry. and plus, my neighbors dry their clothes in the window and we can always see them sitting there.... so now we can be twins.
it is in the routine and the everyday that we find the possibilities for the greatest transformation.
- KATHLEEN NORRIS
:-)
I love answers to those types of prayers.
(08.16.10 @ 02:22 PM)yes!!!!!!! i know! who knew God cared about me needing/wanting a washing machine.
